At ScienceSouth

The 5000 square foot ScienceSouth Pavilion is located on 35 acres along Jeffries Creek at Freedom Florence. Through a partnership and long-term lease with the City of Florence, this facility offers the best in hands-on science education in the Pee Dee. The Pavilion offers families the opportunity to do real science in our minds-on, hands-on workshops and surrounding environment. Parents and children can come work together in workshops the whole family can enjoy!

Programs offered at ScienceSouth include:
ScienceSaturdays: Themed three hour workshops offered every first Saturday of the month.
Girl Scout Programs: Workshops tailored to their journeys
– Birthday Parties: You haven’t been to a birthday party until you’ve been to one at ScienceSouth!
Homeschool Science Academy: Bring your homeschool student to one of three homeschool workshops.
Mommy & Me: Come spend some hands-on learning time with your scientist in training.
STEM Saturday: Come to our FREE monthly science workshop sponsored by Time Warner Cable.
– Field Trips at ScienceSouth are never ordinary!

The Pavilion is also the base for ScienceSouth’s growing outreach program, which includes the McLeod Health Mobile Lab and the Senator Hugh K. Leatherman Mobile Lab.
