Remembering Joan Wafer

The ScienceSouth team is deeply saddened by the news that our part-time
employee Joan Wafer passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007.
Joan began working with us when she retired from teaching last year. Joan
taught science with Marlboro County School district for 32 years, inspiring
many youngsters. She was part of our summer science challenge camp, worked
in collaboration with the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics
partnership, delivered Science on Wheels programs and was recently assisting
us with program development and fundraising.
Ms. Joan loved teaching science. Her dedication to young people and to the
communication of REAL science will remain with the ScienceSouth team.
